Equipment

  • 1 standard loaf pan
  • 1 Small Saucepan
  • 1 Large Bowl
  • 1 whisk or electric mixer
  • 1 rubber spatula

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sprouted oats
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup peeled and diced apples

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add milk and butter to a small sauce pan set to medium low heat. Heat until butter is fully melted and milk is warmed.
  • Add oats and apples to saucepan and combine. Let this cool for a few minutes.
  • Add maple syrup, egg, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon to a large mixing bowl and combine well.
  • Ensuring the oat mixture is not too hot (so it won't scramble the egg), add to the large bowl with egg and maple syrup mixture and combine.
  • Prepare a glass baking dish by greasing the bottom and sides with butter.
  • Pour oatmeal mixture into prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or  until slightly golden brown on top.
  • Remove from oven and let rest in pan for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Cut into squares or rectangles and serve on individual serving dishes.
  • Serve with added toppings like milk, cream, or yogurt and sweeteners like maple syrup or honey.
  • Enjoy!
