Peppermint Mocha Iced Latte: Healthy Homemade Recipe

 This Healthy Iced Peppermint Mocha Latte is a refreshing twist on the classic coffeehouse favorite. Sweetened naturally with pure maple syrup and infused with pure peppermint essential oil,  its perfect for a midday pick-me-up or a festive treat any time of year. This healthy latte is nourishing as well as flavorful!

Equipment

  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 medium sized bowl
  • 1 mixing utensil
  • 1 16 oz serving glass (or 10 oz mug for hot drink)

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup espresso (2 shots)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 drop food grade peppermint essential oil
  • 1/2 to 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  • Combine cold (or warmed) milk and peppermint essential oil in a small bowl.
  • In a medium sized bowl, combine hot espresso with cocoa powder, maple syrup, salt, and vanilla extract until there are no clumps.
  • Add milk mixture to mocha mixture and combine well.
  • Pour over desired amount of ice in your glass of choice. Top with fresh mint if you like.
  • For a hot peppermint mocha, pour into your mug of choice. Top with whipped cream if you like.
