1 espresso machine (with milk steamer for hot drink variety)
2 small bowls or cups
1 small wire whisk or fork
1 medium sized mug (for hot drink) or glass (for cold drink)
Ingredients
2tablespoonscocoa powder
2tablespoonsgelatin powder(optional, omit for cold drink)
2tablespoonsmaple syrup
1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
1/16 to 1/4teaspooncayenne pepper(to taste)
1pinchsalt
6 to 8ozwhole milk(to taste)
1/4 to 1/2cupice cubes(for cold drink variety)
Instructions
In a small bowl or cup, combine maple syrup, cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, cayenne powder, and salt with a small wire whisk until there are no clumps.
Make a high quality double shot of espresso with your espresso machine.
Add optional gelatin (omit for a cold drink) to espresso while mixing constantly until there are no clumps.
Add chocolate mixture and espresso mixture to serving cup and combine well.
For a hot drink: steam milk with coffee machine, then pour frothy milk into chocolate and espresso mixture while stirring.
For a cold drink: Add cold milk to coffee and chocolate mixture, then add desired amount of ice cubes.
