With moisturizing properties, this hair mask also helps improve the health of the hair shaft and the ends of your hair. It can reduce issues like frizziness and split ends, leading to smooth and shiny hair.
Adding a yogurt hair mask to your hair care routine is an amazing way to improve the health and appearance of your hair!
Common Hair Problems
There are variety of factors that lead to hair issues. The many toxic hair products on the market with harsh chemicals can damage hair – plus it’s being absorbed into the skin!
It’s not just chemicals that can lead to damaged hair- even water can. While city water with added chlorine and other chemicals can lead to hair damage, so can water with high levels of minerals. This is called hard water, and it can cause build up on hair follicles, which then leads to weak shafts and hair breakage. These environmental factors lead to common problems like dry hair, hair loss, hair breakage, oily hair, dull hair, dandruff, and more! It’s important to not only filter water of chemicals, but also to add steps to your hair care routine to remove hard water build-up.
Benefits of Yogurt for Hair
Yogurt provides many health benefits for hair:
Protein content– The amino acids in yogurt help to repair and strengthen hair follicles.
Ph balance: lactic acid present in yogurt can have an acidic, conditioning effect on the hair strands. The lactic acid can also help to remove dead skin cells, leading to a cleaner and healthier scalp.
Moisture: probiotics in yogurt can help balance the natural sebum on the hair and scalp, and lactic acid can help close the hair shafts and lock in moisture.
Anti-inflammatory properties– probiotics in yogurt can have an anti-inflammatory effect that may help to restore scalp health and lead to healthier hair.
Balance natural oils– the fats and acids in yogurt can help strip excess oils while maintaining a good balance of healthy, natural oils.
Provide vitamin b: vitamin b5 can help increase blood flow to the scalp, resulting in healthier hair and reduced hair thinning.
Provide zinc: zinc can help strengthen the hair shaft and lead to healthier hair growth.
